Distinction by Leigh Valentine Versus Aloette Lumitone – The Facial Confrontation

[ad_1]

What would you consider to be more attractive-luster and sparkle on smooth, wrinkle free skin, or a noninvasive facelift that will firm, lift and moisturize? In a way, one could say that Distinction by Leigh Valentine and Aloette Lumitone want to do the same thing for aging skin. But the thing is they claim to reach the endpoint by addressing what they each think are the most important by products of facial skin with age. And their marketing strategies are different, too.

Aloette Lumitone claims to tone and bring back the luster and luminescence of aging skin with an aloe vera base and Lumitone HP which helps aging skin to capture the light in one’s skin. Ingredients include alpha-arbutin which is known for its skin lightening effects, and other botanicals, plant products, anti-oxidants, and natural ingredients. This product also does not test its products on animals. This company was ranked by Forbes Magazine as one of America’s Top 200 Small Companies”. An Aloepure basics kit costs US $85.00.

On the other hand, Distinction by Leigh Valentine claims to work like a nonsurgical facelift, with an effect on the eye lines that would equal what one would have with Botox, but without the injections. The facial kit is described as a special system that will lubricate, moisturize, stimulate blood circulation, and clarify the skin. All this, but on the downside, the kit which contains a range of products, does not include the product ingredients. However, Distinction by Leigh Valentine also does not conduct experiments of its products on animals. Leigh Valentine banks largely on her work experience as a beauty consultant for top makeup firms, a beauty queen, and PR consultant for Ronald Reagan. However on the down side she does not list down the ingredients of her products, and this could be concerning for people who may have allergies. A five piece kit from Distinction costs US $59.98.

So which product is better? Price wise, Distinction is cheaper at US $59.98 for five products, compared to Aloette Lumitone kit at US $85 for four products, with its fifth product being a satin drawstring bag to keep the products in. Here’s the deal, wrinkles and skin aging is a part of real life, and many women do not want to undergo surgery or even Botox to look better. If I was one of those women with such inclination, and I had money to spare, I would probably place my money on Aloette Lumitone. Somehow all this talk of non surgical facelift and Botox without injection claims by Distinction does not sit as well with me as the use of natural and organic materials in the making of Aloette. Also, the Forbes listing sounds good. Enough women have tried it to buy it again and again. Plus, they have a complete listing of all their ingredients.

Dead Sea Mud Masks Hair and Facial Treatment

[ad_1]

We damage the mantel of our skin in more ways than we think. Simply by washing our face, we disturb the pH balance, which could lead to discoloration and dry skin. A routine dead sea mud mask treatment replenishes the skin with nutrients we lose throughout the day. Because of it’s high mineral content, mud masks are a nourishing treatment for healthy skin.

You probably think of it as a facial treatment, but don’t stop there! Dead sea mud masks can also be applied to your scalp and the length of your hair. We’ll look at the benefits and see why it should include it as a hair care staple.

Hair and Skin Benefits Dead Sea Mud Masks

Silky Skin

The natural ingredients within the mud are defenders against acne, psoriasis, eczema, scarring and discoloration. The result of a dead sea mud mask lighten the skin, eliminating discoloration. It’s moisturizing enough to treat eczema with consistent treatments. The minerals activate the flow of oxygen, which in turn stimulates the nutrients within your skin.

A friend of mine routinely used this mask as a facial treatment to clear up her acne. Hesitant at first, she was soon surprised to find how quickly her acne was reduced. According to her, the treatment made her skin glow. She stopped using it regularly simply because she no longer needed it. The result of dead sea mud masks are long lasting.

To keep the glow alive, she still uses it once every two weeks.

How to Use

1. When you receive the dead sea mud mask, the sea water will most often separate from the mud. Stir until you reach a smooth consistency.

2. Apply a small amount with the cushion of your fingertips in a circular motion. Do this until your entire face is covered. Start at the bottom and work your way up. Note: if you apply too much mud, it won’t harden properly. Use discreetly.

3. Leave the mud on for roughly 15 minutes, or until mud hardens. An indicator that the mud is hardening is when your entire face tightens.

4. Rinse thoroughly in the shower.

The changes are immediate after your first application. Lines will decrease, skin will lighten, and scarring from acne may improve. It’s a treatment that will illicit clear, healthy skin. As for the “glow” my friend always mentions, I can only attribute this to the potpourri of vitamins and minerals that also create a “silken touch”.

Hair Benefits

You’ve seen the commercials where a model’s face is covered in mud. But her hair is also coated in mud and wrapped at the crown of her head. Have you ever asked yourself, “What’s that stuff doing on her hair?”

That’s a good question. Now here’s the answer.

Dead sea mud masks, when applied to the scalp, can strengthen hair roots. It’s enriched with over 26 minerals that nourish your hair and stimulate growth. If you suffer from scabs or dandruff, many of these minerals help to prevent dryness. Used regularly, dead sea mud masks can treat a number of scalp irritants.

You can also apply it to the length of your hair. The iron in dead sea mud strengthens hair, while the potassium adds and maintains moisture. Women with curly hair often suffer from dry hair because the natural oils from their scalp don’t travel down to their tresses. This treatment is highly advised for such hair textures.

With a 20 minute treatment, dead sea mud masks will add moisture and remove toxic matters and impurities. You can do this once a week for an at-home spa treatment, or however often you desire. Dead sea mud mask is gentle enough to use daily. If you use it everyday, just follow up with a light leave-in conditioner.

Some Great Benefits Of Only Using Organic Facial Products

[ad_1]

Though there are many things individuals see as they look at you, the single most significant things that they observe initially will be your skin, particularly the skin on your face. Your face is exactly what you show foremost to the world, and therefore you want to take the greatest care of it that one could. The most significant ways in which you could handle your skin properly is as easy as using solely organic facial products.

There are lots of advantages to not allowing any skin-care materials besides organic facial products touch your face and body; and listed below are just some of them.

1) Organic facial products cleanse your skin thoroughly without the use of unsafe toxic chemicals. Furthermore, by using organic facial products, you prevent an accumulation of harsh chemicals on your skin, that’s one of the main things that cause acne and irritation.

2) You can also secure the well-being of mature skin by utilizing organic facial products. All-natural items contain plant essential oils straight from Mother Nature, which reinvigorate skin cells and play a role in skin suppleness, thereby slowing the creation of the formation of lines and wrinkles. Moreover, because harmful chemicals can frequently harm skin strength, you are prolonging the period of time that your skin remains unwrinkled by avoiding contact with those unsafe chemicals.

3) You are improving not only your skin’s overall health, but your health and wellness, by the use of organic skin care remedies. The majority of the ingredients utilized in over-the-counter medicines and beauty-related products are in fact recognized to trigger many kinds of persistent sickness, including various kinds of cancer. There’s also a number of other documented undesired health outcomes, including the harm to your natural immunity. The chemical substances found in skin care products are notably threatening since women test them day in and day out, for years on end. The contact to those chemical elements that’s accumulated over several years of continuous use is considerable.

Summing up – be careful that your skincare products that you apply on your skin are made to be absorbed. Why else should you use them? You would not apply moisturizing cream upon your skin unless you anticipated it to be absorbed into your dermis. The very thought of it just sitting on the surface is preposterous – that would be of virtually no use in the slightest!

Considering that the complete purpose of applying beauty-related products onto the skin of your face and body is truly in order that they will be absorbed into the pores, it merely makes common sense to be certain that every one of the components in the skin items that you select are organic and natural. You don’t wish to deal with the medical consequences of rubbing toxic chemicals to your skin and allowing it to be used, every day, year after year.

Value and love yourself enough to spend any additional time checking out healthy and organic facial skin care products, then invest a little bit of extra cash investing in them. You and your overall health are worthy of every bit of that cash and time investment!

Lose Facial Fat – 6 Facts You Must Know

[ad_1]

If you have a thin body but a fat face and you try to do exercises to lose facial fat the wrong way, it can cause a lot of problems to your health.

You can get dark circles and sunken eyes

The appearance of dark circles around your eyes or the appearance of sunken eyes can be directly related to trying to lose facial fat the wrong way. It can also make your skin look old, tired and worn out. Much of this can be caused by the decrease in elasticity of your skin.

The gym will not help you lose facial fat

You can be running on the treadmill at the gym for hours or doing any other cardio exercise and you won’t lose any face fat. Have you ever talked to other people about your face fat problems, and the only answer you ever get from them is to work out more, lose a bit of weight by doing cardio exercise? Ask your fitness trainer and all he or she will tell you is that cardio exercises would help you lose your chubby cheeks and double chin. This is Wrong!

Face fat isn’t the same as body fat

If face fat and body fat are connected and the same, then wouldn’t all skinny people have toned and well sculpted faces? There are two types of fitness, one is the regular body fitness and the other is face fitness. If you’re like most people you probably don’t know what face fitness is all about and thus facial fat is misunderstood. There’s a good chance you don’t know why you have fat cheeks or a double chin but somehow you’re body is not fat.

Chubby cheeks and double chins may affect people who are thin or average

The reality is that a lot of people who are skinny or of average weight may suffer from chubby cheeks and double chins. This is because face fat is different to body fat. And facial fat can be caused by among other things such as water retention as well as a variety of things like your diet and lifestyle.

There is no guarantee you will lose face fat by losing your body fat

Yes it’s true if you have a fat body and a fat face, then the most common sense thing to do is cardiovascular exercises to burn that fat off. However, this does not guarantee that you will lose facial fat. In fact your face may stay the same, while you’re body becomes thinner.

What you should do

There is a way to lose facial fat, and that is facial exercises and having the right diet. This does not require you to starve yourself, or do extreme and heavy cardio exercises it only requires you to put in a little amount of time everyday to do simple facial exercises.

Facial Steamers – How to Maintain Your Facial Steamer & Save Money

[ad_1]

All too often I get calls from people saying their facial steamer just stopped working! This seems to always happen on a Friday and you’ve got appointments booked through the weekend. It will take a week to get a new steamer and now you have no choice but to spend more money on expedited shipping, re-schedule appointments or do the dreaded steam-less facial. Follow these simple steps to avoid having this happen to you and losing business.

1 – Buy your facial steamer from a reputable company.

If I had a dollar for every person that called me in a panic saying, “I just broke my steamer jar…I need a replacement ASAP!”  I usually ask them where they got it and they proudly tell me about the great buy they found on eBay.  That price may have looked good at the time, but now you can’t find a replacement jar, thermostat or heating element to fix your steamer.  New Facial Steamers are not that expensive these days.  Always buy from a company that will be able to supply you with basic replacement parts.  It will pay off in the end and it’s just a matter of time before you’ll need them.

2 – Use distilled water in your facial steamer.

I know it may be tempting to just use tap water when you run out of distilled, but don’t do it!  Most facial steamers require distilled water for a reason.  Tap water often contains impurities and other minerals that will build up on the important parts of your steamer, eventually causing it to fail when you need it most.  Couple this with the fact that a steamer with mineral deposits may end up spitting hot water at your client’s face, causing you embarrassment, a repeat customer, and a potential lawsuit.  Distilled water has been purified through a rigorous boiling process and condensed into a clean container.  Using distilled water might not be the most convenient, but it is well worth it when you consider the life of your steamer and facial clients.

3 – Clean your facial steamer regularly.

To keep your facial steamer in peak performance, make sure you clean it regularly and follow these simple guidelines.  You should never leave water in the jar over night.  Make sure you empty the jar and let it dry, refilling with new distilled water prior to your next use.  Deposits will build up eventually, so run a water and vinegar solution through your steamer once a month or more depending on how much use it gets.

Put 2 tablespoons of white vinegar in the jar filled with distilled water.  Turn on the steamer and let the machine steam for 30 seconds, but do not turn on the ozone light if you have one.  Turn off the facial steamer and let it sit for 15 minutes to let the vinegar solution do its work.  Do not leave it longer as it may corrode the heating coils if left to sit too long.  Finally, empty the steamer and refill with fresh distilled water.  Again, heat to steam and let it run for about 10 minutes.

This process should be done away from client rooms or closed spaces as the vinegar solution can create quite a pungent odor when heated.  If the steamer still puts off a vinegar odor, repeat the final step running new distilled water through the steamer until the odor is eliminated.

Maintaining your facial steamer properly can take some time, but it’s well worth it when you consider the consequences of lost revenue, lost clients and cost to replace it.  Always buy from a reputable company so you can get those replacement parts when you need them.  I recommend having a 2nd glass jar on hand at all times just in case.  Lastly, you might want to invest in a mini or portable facial steamer as a backup.  It’s not necessarily great for permanent setup in your treatment room, but could save the day in a pinch.

Anti Aging Skin Care Products – Use Elastin to Banish Facial Wrinkles!

[ad_1]

As your skin starts to age, have you started to notice subtle changes in its tone, texture and structure? From having good skin as a younger person do you now see your face starting to look pale and sallow with the development of facial wrinkles? Does it seem as if several facial wrinkles have appeared from nowhere? Has the skin under your eyes become sunken and hollow?

I know that you are a person interested in only the best Anti Aging Skincare products. So you’ve probably noticed the explosion in these products over the last 10 – 15 years. And for persons looking to maintain youthful skin, it’s more important than ever to have knowledge about good Anti Aging Skin Care and how related products can work best to banish facial wrinkles.

What is Elastin?

Elastin is a protein found in the skin and other body tissues. The Elastin is present in the form of elastin fibre. Its presence in the skin is essential because elastin helps to keep skin flexible but tight. It also helps to keep our skin smooth if it is stretched for any reason. For example, when we open or close our mouth to talk, yawn or eat, the fact that our mouth can return to its resting position is due to the elastin in our skin. The elastin will allow skin to return to its normal shape after being “pulled”. Think also about how our skin reacts when we stretch our muscles; the skin’s elastin allows the smooth return of muscles back to their resting position.

In fact, wrinkles and “saggy skin” are the result of diminishing elastin fibres in the skin. The amount of elastin fibres in the skin decreases as we age, leading to the appearance of facial wrinkles.

Can Elastin be put back into the skin?

You may have noticed elastin as a key ingredient in anti aging skin care products. elastin can certainly have a beneficial effect on the skin because it may form a coating on the skin, helping your skin to better hold in moisture. In other words, elastin can have a hydrolyzing effect on your skin.

However, elastin creams will not provide your skin with that “bounce back” property. In other words, they will not entirely restore the skin’s flexibility or banish wrinkles. This is because Elastin molecules are too large to penetrate the skin’s outer layer. They will just skin on the surface of your skin, and that is why they will form a moisturizing coating. But elastin creams will not banish facial wrinkles!

Also, a lot of the elastin put into creams comes from other animals such as cows or birds. The possibility of introducing “foreign” proteins into the body may run the risk of possible serious consequences.

Can skin Replenish its own elastin Levels?

A far better strategy for maintaining good anti aging skin care would be to encourage the skin to replenish and maintain its own skin elastin levels. That way, your skin can maintain its youthful appearance and you are not introducing anything “foreign”.

Scientists and Cosmetologists have discovered a way of “blocking” the signals that the body sends to the skin to destroy its elastin as we age. By blocking these signals, the skin can start to replenish its own elastin levels.

In fact, some groups of Scientists have produced anti-aging skin care products which can return your skin elastin levels to that of an 18 – 20 year old! Within a matter of weeks, your skin’s Elastin levels can be returned to a youthful state, leaving it smoother, firmer and facial wrinkles greatly diminished.

Removing Facial Wrinkles Using Friction

[ad_1]

Even though the rest of the body has been developed to the strength of an athlete if the muscles on the face and neck are neglected, you will still look old, a contrasting sight to the youthful, developed body you possess.

Therefore, it is necessary to pay equal attention to those muscles for them to grow in size and gain strength and elasticity. The hollow places in the neck and cheeks can be filled up; the muscles which surround the eyes can be increased in plumpness; and, with a treatment I will now describe, that smoothness of skin characteristic of youth may, to a very considerable extent, be regained.

The true secret of restoring to the skin the smoothness of youth is friction. The skin can be polished and the wrinkles can be rubbed out like any other piece of leather. The palms of the hands and the tips of the fingers are the very best tools to use for that purpose. This polishing, wrinkle-removing process can best be done while you lie comfortably in bed as in that position it is easier, less fatiguing and you can get at the wrinkles more readily than when either sitting or standing.

But before commencing this system of facial rejuvenation it might be well to disabuse yourself of the idea that you can “build up” the muscles of the cheeks, chin, neck and throat or to form living tissue by attempting to “rub in” skin foods. Of course, my statement that it is impossible will be regarded as rank heresy by every woman who reads this. But when you consider Nature’s method of building the human structure, the fallacy of such a proposition must be evident.

Every part of the body is composed of millions of infinitesimal living cells. These cells are the result of the digestive functions and as this process is only carried on in the stomach and digestive tract, they cannot come into being by any other method. So the idea that the cheeks, throat or neck can be nourished or built up by rubbing in, or attempting to run into the skin and muscles any lotion, cream or other kinds of “skin foods” is as logical as the “hair seed” industry. At what stage in digestion food is transformed into life we have no clear idea. But we do know that living tissue can only be formed by the digestive process; hence the folly of applying skin food preparations for that purpose is an absurdity.

The reason skin foods thoroughly “rubbed in” seems to give that fresh, smooth look to the skin and why the wrinkles grow less under that process is actually the result of what is termed in slang as “elbow grease”. It is the persistent friction of the skin, and plenty of it, using the palms of the hands and tips of the fingers. In that way you will surely improve your facial appearance–with or without the “skin foods.”

If you believe that applying “skin foods” which you have bought or made bring the desired result of younger looking skin, then by all means continue using them. The process is like that of putting grease to a machinery to prevent chafing. But the effect of that procedure is only for lubrication. It will make the friction easier and prevent the skin from chafing during the rubbing process. Other than that, if this greasy preparation is done without accompanying massage, it will only yield a temporary result that can be washed off afterwards.

The usual objection made to the friction process I advise is that the skin might loosen and the pores might become enlarged. If you go at it too vigorously that is very possible. But with thorough care, this cannot be injurious. However, if it does happen, the structure of the skin will tone up under the stimulating treatment and the skin will eventually be clear and still result to improvement.

To start, keep the skin in place by stretching it using the first and second fingers of one hand. Then rub the skin with the fingers or palm of the other hand. The points that will probably need first attention will be the corners of the eyes, mouth, temples and immediately forward of the ears. Apply some lubricants to prevent from chafing. You may use “skin foods” or any smooth face cream. Don’t go at this method of facial rejuvenation too energetically. If you do, your skin will get sore. The same rule applies to massaging the face and throat as to any other system of exercise. Go slow. Stick to it regularly and you will succeed.

How Long Do the Effects of an IPL Photo Facial Last?

[ad_1]

An IPL or Intense Pulsed Light facial is a non-invasive treatment to rejuvenate your skin. It uses this light to reach very deep into the epidermis which causes your body to make new cells and with new growth your skin will look youthful. You can get this facial on any part of your body. It is typically for your arms, hands, legs which are usually directly effected by the sunlight. This treatment allows you to make your skin look younger, snapping away the wrinkles, acne scars, terribly obvious veins that you want to avoid showing off. It is also FDA-cleared and patented to provide amazing results in skin conditions such as: rosacea, bad acne, unsightly birthmarks, and it also helps eliminated unwanted body hair.

The IPL doesn’t cause the same effects as other treatments. Some leave a lot of redness, puffiness, and may last a lot longer than the effects of this procedure. There is no slicing or dicing, and no injections. Some of the effects may cause a little bit of redness initially, but it fades and you will be able to go back to your every day life in a jiffy. There is no need to be put under anesthesia, just a numbing cream is added. The temporary pain is like a quick slap of a rubber band, nothing major. It is a very simple procedure. The recovery time is beneficial. You could go out on a lunch break and go right back to your busy schedule afterward, just a little more rejuvenated. There is definitely something to say about that.

You should always go to an accredited person to have anything cosmetic done to you. There are doctors, skin care specialists, and there are always Medispa’s that you can go to for this treatment. This is also varies state to state. Some places just don’t do IPL yet, they aren’t accredited or certified to do this treatment. Make sure you check that the place that you are getting IPL is accredited, that they have a certificate. No long-term disasters please!

The effects lasts a few years. There are usually 5-8 treatments which take between 15 minutes to 30 minutes to complete. They span out one treatment every 3 weeks or so depending on what treatment that you get. This varies depending on what you are going in for and the extent of the condition that you have. You will notice a difference in your skin after the first one and improvements thereafter. Upkeep treatments aren’t necessary, but in order to maintain rejuvenation going in for an IPL facial after a few years is suggested to be beneficial.

The cost once again varies from state to state. Nationwide it is approximately $375.00 per treatment, the minimum cost of an IPL facial is $250.00 and the maximum amount is upwards of about $500.00. “Anyone who has age spots or dark spots, freckles, broken capillaries, tiny blood vessels, or wrinkles can benefit from an IPL photo facial. This system will work on any skin type or pigment, and the results are compelling.” (http://www.aestheticedge.com/ipl-photofacial-torrance.php)

Fyola’s Trade Secret: Ionzyme

The Fyola Facial Massager combines two effective skin care treatments, ultrasound waves and galvanic ion to bring radiance to your skin. These two treatments when combined are called Ionzyme.

Most people are already familiar with ultrasound because it is used by their dental hygienist in dental instruments to clean teeth. Similarly, ultrasound can be used to deeply clean facial skin pores. However, ultrasound is also used for healing soft tissue injuries with tools used by chiropractors and medical doctors. In these instances, ultrasound can stimulate circulation, improve muscle tone, and stimulate healing.

Galvanic ion current, along with ultrasound is effective at driving healing substances into the skin. When you use the Fyola Facial Massager along with an effective topical skin care cream, the healing ingredients will penetrate the skin and create quicker results in the appearance of your skin.

Fyola’s patented Ionzyme technology is truly one-of-a-kind. You can expect to see improvements in firmness and texture of your skin after only two or three treatments.

Your oily or dry skin will soon return to normal as the healing benefits are experienced. The results are guaranteed to be better than conventional facial massagers.

With the Fyola personal massager, a gel is used to get the maximum benefit of the ultrasonic part of the unit. The gel acts as a way to conduct the healing vibrations deep into the skin. It also enhances absorption of these vibrations.
